Virtual Open Series 2022 rankings

British Weight Lifting is pleased to conclude the 2022 Virtual Open Series competition by publishing the final rankings.

Virtual Open Series 2022 rankings

The Virtual Open Series is a unique competition format that allowed athletes to submit videos of their competition lifts on a virtual platform.

The rankings for the Virtual Open Series are based on points rather than the weight lifted. For the senior and youth categories, Sinclair points are used. For the master’s category, SMF points are used. For the development category, technique points are used. Sinclair and SMF points are calculated using formulas that take into consideration weight lifted, bodyweight, and for SMF points, age.

If an athlete enters the Virtual Open Series more than once, the points they achieve are accrued- increasing the likelihood of ranking higher.

In the men’s senior competition, congratulations to Josh Summergill from Triple X for securing the top spot after submitting two entries to the competition and amassing 625.533 Sinclair points. Kun Me Yang secured second place with two entries and 537.428 Sinclair points. Jacob Finnigan came in third place after attaining 326.874 Sinclair points from one entry.
