BUCS Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting Championships

Qualifying period: 18 April 2024 - 23 February 2025.

The qualification period has been extended to 23rd February. It is the lifter's responsibility to ensure their entry is submitted before the entry deadline on 25th February. Please refer to the entries section for further details.

Entries will close at 2100 Sunday 26 January 2025

Entries will be judged and lifters will be contacted 31 January 2025.

The BUCS entries will be open from Tuesday, 4 February until Tuesday, 25 February 2025. 

All entries must be made via BUCS play. Entry fee: £50

As BUCS is a British Weight Lifting Competition it's important to note that certain prerequisites must be fulfilled in order to coach at the competition. These prerequisites include:

• A valid BWL membership (excluding supporter status).

• A BWL coaching license, which requires a Level 2 BWL coaching qualification.

• A valid safeguarding certificate.

• An enhanced DBS check. If you currently hold one, it must be registered on the government update service to be transferable.

Please note weight classes are now final, however if the athlete doesn't make weight on the day, they can still compete as a guest in the respective higher or lower category.
