The championships provided an important opportunity for athletes to test themselves against some of the continent's best young lifters, with four members of the squad making their Great Britain international debut.

Unfortunately, Thomas Duggan was unable to compete after withdrawing from the competition due to illness. Everyone at BWL wishes Thomas a speedy recovery and looks forward to seeing him back on the platform soon.

Megan Armitage | Youth Women's 45kg

Making her international debut, Megan Armitage delivered an impressive performance to finish 6th overall with a 122kg total.

Megan successfully lifted 56kg in the snatch and 66kg in the clean and jerk, gaining valuable experience in her first appearance for Great Britain.

Amber Cruikshank also made a positive start to her international career in the Youth Women's 49kg category.

Amber recorded a 127kg total, snatching 57kg and clean and jerking 70kg, placing 9th and demonstrating excellent composure on the European stage.

One of the standout performances of the championships came from Niah Sinclair, who secured a bronze medal in the snatch with a lift of 74kg, and clean and jerked 88kg.

Niah finished 4th overall with a 162kg total, narrowly missing out on an overall podium place but delivering an outstanding performance on her international debut.

Isaac Bluff | Youth Men's 85kg

Competing in the Youth Men's 85kg category, Isaac Bluff produced a 241kg total to finish 13th overall.

Making his first appearance in Great Britain colours, Isaac snatched 111kg and clean and jerked 130kg.

Ella Henrey | Youth Women's 69kg

Ella Henrey rounded off the British performances with a superb six-from-six competition in the Youth Women's 69kg category, snatching 73kg and clean and jerking 90kg.

Ella's consistency helped her achieve a 163kg total and secure 9th place overall.

Building for the future

Niah's snatch bronze medal was a fitting reward for a strong week of performances from the team.

Everyone at BWL congratulates the athletes, coaches and support staff on their efforts throughout the championships and looks forward to following their continued development in the years ahead.

BWL would like to thank UK Sport, Sport England, The National Lottery, Eleiko and SBD for their continued support of our athletes and performance pathway.
