The IWF particularly welcomes candidates with a legal background and/or professional experience in sports administration, ethics, compliance or related fields, together with a strong command of English.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of integrity, ethical standards and good governance in sport, as well as the ability to exercise sound and independent judgement.
IWF Financial Advisory Group
The IWF is seeking candidates for:
- Two Members
The Financial Advisory Group provides independent financial advice to the IWF Executive Board, supports sound financial and risk management, and reviews the financial and risk implications of current and proposed policies relating to governance and operations. Members are expected to undertake their responsibilities independently and impartially.
The IWF particularly welcomes candidates with professional expertise in finance, financial management, risk management, audit, accounting, sports financial administration and management or related fields, together with a strong command of English.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of financial governance, risk management and sound financial practices in sport, as well as the ability to exercise sound, independent and impartial judgement.
For both appointments, the IWF has emphasised its commitment to ensuring appropriate diversity and professional expertise and encourages qualified candidates from different backgrounds and regions to apply.
Application Process
These opportunities are being advertised by the IWF as calls for applications, rather than positions requiring nomination by an IWF Member Federation.
Suitably qualified individuals are therefore encouraged to apply directly to the IWF in their own capacity.
Applicants are required to submit:
- a cover letter; and
- a current CV
- by email to the IWF no later than:
- Friday 25 September 2026 at 17:00 CET
Applications will be reviewed in accordance with the applicable IWF Constitution and By-Laws by the IWF Executive Board and/or a committee of external experts. The selection and appointment of members will be considered by the IWF Executive Board, with the final composition subsequently ratified by the IWF Ordinary Congress.
Further Information
Applicants should familiarise themselves with the relevant IWF Constitution and By-Laws and ensure that they satisfy all applicable requirements.
For the Ethics and Disciplinary Commission, further information on its duties and responsibilities is contained in Article 34.2(g) of the IWF Constitution and the IWF Code of Conduct (By-Laws, Section 3).
