GB Para Powerlifters Shine in Tbilisi!
The 2024 Para Powerlifting World Cup in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 20 June to 26 June, saw Great Britain’s para powerlifters deliver outstanding performances in the last qualifier for the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
Tom Whittaker, Paralympic Performance Director, stated, "This competition was electric with nearly all GBR athletes matching or delivering personal bests under pressure. This last qualifier had the world's elite competing for a top 8 slot and automatic invitation to the games later this summer. After such positive performances, we hope to take a strong team to Paris, which will be a reward in itself for several years of hard work and commitment from the athletes and their support teams."
