Coach Development Lead

Lead and deliver BWL’s “Progression Strategy 2 - Raise the standard of coaching” to achieve its strategic objectives in line with UK Sport and Home Nation funding organisation objectives for 2026.

• Support the Head of Performance – Weightlifting to implement BWL’s desired performance culture:
• Develop an environment and culture that is conducive to athlete development
• Develop an environment and culture that is open to learning
• Work effectively with the Head of Performance – Weightlifting to ensure there is integration and wider
organisational support in areas such as education, competitions, communications, IT & digital
developments, governance and compliance and board reporting

Pathway Officer- 3 roles based in North, Midlands, and South

Co-ordinate the BWL Talent Academy programme and support the development of Talent Academy Coaches in-line with BWL’s Progression Strategy and Sport England funding objectives for 2026.

• Co-ordinate the BWL Regional Pathway programme and support the development of the England
Pathway in-line with BWL’s Progression Strategy and Sport England funding objectives for 2026.
• Support the development of BWL’s desired performance culture:
• an environment and culture that is conducive to athlete development
• an environment and culture that is open to learning
• Work effectively with the Home Nation Pathway Lead to ensure there is integration and wider
organisational support in areas such as education, competitions, communications, IT and digital
developments, governance and compliance and Board reporting.

Deliver High quality coaching across the BWL Pathway programme and support the development of the England Pathway in-line with BWL’s Progression Strategy and Sport England funding objectives for 2026.

• Support the development of BWL’s desired performance culture:
• develop an environment and culture that is conducive to athlete development
• develop an environment and culture that is open to learning
• Support the develop of leading British athletes in collaboration with the wider BWL Performance team
• Work effectively with the Home Nation Pathway Lead to ensure there is integration and wider
organisational support in areas such as education, competitions, communications, IT and digital
developments, governance and compliance and board reporting.
