Once a year, the UK’s top-ranked Weightlifters are invited to compete at the British Championships. This flagship event brings together unmatched strength, technique, and grit as athletes go head-to-head for the ultimate title: British Champion. The 2025 edition took place from 11-13 July at the NEC Birmingham, as part of the Strength in Depth event.
The curtain has closed on an unforgettable edition of the British Championships 2025: a celebration of strength, determination, and community spirit.
Over the course of the weekend, hundreds of athletes competed across three platforms in two sports, delivering exceptional performances in both Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting.
British Weight Lifting (BWL) would like to extend its sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this event:

Events of this calibre are made possible through the shared commitment of a passionate community — from the athletes and coaches, to the officials, volunteers, and event personnel working tirelessly behind the scenes. I also want to express sincere appreciation to our partners, whose ongoing support plays a vital role in enabling opportunities for our athletes to thrive.
I am incredibly proud of what has been accomplished and grateful to everyone who helped deliver an event that so strongly reflects the values and aspirations of British Weight Lifting.”
