Upcoming Tier 3 Competitions

British Weight Lifting is pleased to provide an update on the upcoming Tier 3 competitions taking place over the next few months.

Tier 3 competitions provide the perfect opportunity for lifters to achieve classified results and feature on our official rankings list.

These entry level events take place all across the country and are well suited for both novice and experienced lifters.  They are the ideal place to qualify for a Regional Tier 2 or British Tier 1 event.  

The first competition coming up is the Northern Ireland Weightlifting White Wolf Championship 2019. This two-day event will take place on Saturday the 10th & Sunday 11th of August and is being hosted at White Wolf Crossfit in Lisburn.

There is also another competition running that weekend in the form of the BWL Midlands Summer Age Group Open which is an ideal event for young lifters looking to gain experience on the platform. The Age Group event will be ran over one day and is scheduled to take place at Fortitude Gym, Lydney on the 11th August.

There are a few competitions being held north of the border with the Northern Scotland Open in Arbroath on the 17th August and Round 3 of the Scottish Development Cup on the 9th of September. The latter will be held at Live Active Atholl, in Pitlochry.

The 6th edition of the Hallam Barbell Club Open will be taking place in Sheffield on the 18th of August while down in London Crystal Palace club are hosting LSE Series 4 on the 28^th of August.

September is set to be a busy period with Day 2 of the Lakeside Open kickstarting proceedings on the 1^st while there are also events in Salisbury, Cornwall, and Malton on the 7^th, 21^st and 26^th respectively.

Towards the end of September and into October, the final rounds of the BWL Open Series events are scheduled to take place.

The conclusion of the competition format will see the highest scoring male and female athletes from each regional series overall ranking list awarded with a cash prize of £250, courtesy of BWL.

Brunel University are due to host the third round of the South Series on the 28th and 29th of September.

Middlesbrough Weightlifting Club will provide the venue for the final BWL North Open Series event on the 19th & 20th October while last round of the BWL Midlands Open Series takes place on the 26th at MSC Performance in Birmingham.

The standard entry fee for a Tier 3 competitions is £25; however, this may very depend upon the event so please check on Sport 80 or with the competition organiser.
