Media accreditation now open for the 2026 British Championships
The 2026 British Championships are bigger than ever. Join us at Telford International Centre, 16–17 May. British Weight Lifting (BWL) is now open for media accreditation applications.

With Junior Team USA and international teams taking on the UK’s best, this is a competition to watch. The Championships are the final Commonwealth Games qualifier for weightlifting. Athletes from Cyprus and Malta will also compete as part of the pathway.
Across the weekend, you’ll see the nation’s top Senior athletes. Alongside British Masters and Para Powerlifting talent. Over 300 athletes. International competition. Commonwealth places on the line.
This is one of the biggest moments in the weightlifting calendar.
Accreditation Scope
Accredited media will receive access to designated media areas, and mixed zone opportunities (subject to final event operations plan) TBC. Complimentary access to the British Championships? Commercial partners will be prioritised for warm-up area access.
Media Policy
All accredited media must adhere to the BWL Event Media Policy, including guidelines relating to filming, photography, and content usage rights.

How to apply
Planning to capture professional content? Here’s what you need to do:
- Complete the accreditation form (deadline: 28 April 2026, 23:59)
- Applications will be reviewed after the deadline
- You’ll receive a decision by 1 May 2026
