UKAD Decision – Marcus Harrison

BWL has been informed of a formal decision issued by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) in relation to Marcus Harrison.

UKAD Decision – Marcus Harrison

UKAD has confirmed that Mr Harrison committed Anti-Doping Rule Violations under Articles 2.1 and 2.2 of the UK Anti-Doping Rules, relating to the presence and use of prohibited substances.

The case followed an Out-of-Competition sample collected on 22 October 2025. Subsequent analysis identified adverse analytical findings for boldenone and testosterone of exogenous origin, both of which are prohibited at all times under the WADA Prohibited List.

UKAD determined that the applicable period of Ineligibility is six years. This reflects the standard sanction together with an additional period arising from Aggravating Circumstances identified in the case.

Taking account of the period already served under Provisional Suspension, Mr Harrison’s period of Ineligibility is deemed to have commenced on 27 January 2026 and will expire at 11:59pm on 26 January 2032.

During the period of Ineligibility, Mr Harrison is not permitted to participate in any capacity in competitions, events or other activities organised, authorised or recognised by British Weight Lifting or other relevant sporting bodies, subject to the provisions of the Anti-Doping Rules.

BWL remains fully committed to clean sport, the protection of athlete welfare and the consistent application of the UK Anti-Doping Rules.
