UK-Based Lifters Named in IWF Refugee Team for 2025 World Championships

British Weight Lifting (BWL) is proud to recognise and congratulate two UK-based athletes who have been named in the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) Refugee Team.

Ramiro Romero Mora 

• Member of the Refugee Olympic Team – Paris 2024, finishing 7th 

• British Champion and current British Record Holder 

• Recipient of the IOC Refugee Athlete Scholarship 

Clémentine Meukeugni Noumbissi 

• Competed for Cameroon at the Olympic Games, Tokyo 2020 

• Bronze medallist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games 

• Gold medallist at the 2021 African Championships 

BWL recognises the ongoing support from the IWF for this important initiative, which offers a platform for refugee athletes to continue their careers at the highest level.
