Triple Medals for Weightlifting on Day 4 in Glasgow
Day four of weightlifting at the 2026 Commonwealth Games delivered another strong set of performances in Glasgow, with three medals secured across the women’s categories. Congratulations to Bella Brown and Madias Ngake of England on their silver medals, and Laura Hughes of Wales on her bronze medal.

Women’s 77kg
The first session of the day featured Agata Herbert (Scotland), Bella Brown (England), Kaitlin Saunders (Northern Ireland) and Laura Hughes (Wales).
- Kaitlin snatched 82kg but did not register a clean and jerk.
- Agata finished 6th with a 91kg snatch, 107kg clean and jerk and a 205kg total.
- Laura secured bronze with a 95kg snatch, 129kg clean and jerk and a 224kg total.
- Bella claimed silver with a 97kg snatch and a 132kg clean and jerk, setting a new Commonwealth Games record and finishing with a 229kg total.
Men’s 94kg
The second session saw Josh Hutton (England) and Tom Wright (Scotland) take to the platform.
- Tom snatched 144kg but did not register a clean and jerk.
- Josh snatched 153kg, but withdrew after his first clean and jerk attempt at 173kg due to injury. British Weight Lifting wishes Josh a speedy recovery.
Women’s 86kg
The final session of the day featured Madias Ngake (England).
- Madias secured silver with a 111kg snatch, 128kg clean and jerk and a 239kg total.
