Lockdown Lift Off Round 2 Results

Lockdown Lift Off round 2 challenged lifters across the UK to complete the Clean & Jerk lift as part of the new virtual competition.

Every submission was reviewed by a BWL Technical Official, with a comment left on the video to indicate whether each attempt was successful, and any areas of improvement. In addition, each submission was given a rating out of five stars based on the lifting technique. The technique points don’t count towards the score, the placings are based on the highest successful attempt.

The women’s 49KG category was a close finish, with Joann Burton pipping Jorja McNaughton (Gladiator WLC) by 1kg to reverse the placing from round 1. Amy Salt (Wythenshawe WLC) took first place in the women’s 81kg with perfect scored best lift of 107kg.

In the men’s categories Martyn Riley placed first in the 61kg category with a 95kg clean & jerk and James Richardson placed first in the 73kg category with a 100kg clean & jerk both securing wins in round 1 and round 2 of Lockdown Lift Off. Kristaps Valdmanis lifted an impressive 175kg in the men’s 109kg category despite being the only lifter, scoring a perfect 5 points for technique.
