Hungarian Weightlifting Federation becomes BWL Licensed Delivery Partner

British Weight Lifting (BWL) and the Hungarian Weightlifting Federation (HWF) have formalised a new partnership that will see BWL coach education programmes delivered in Hungary through its Licensed Delivery Partner model.

The agreement follows a visit to London from 14 – 16 August 2026, during which representatives from Hungary met with BWL to explore opportunities for closer cooperation, with coach education and workforce development identified as key areas for collaboration.

Through the partnership, Hungary will gain access to BWL’s established education framework, coaching resources and technical expertise, supporting the development of its domestic coaching workforce and creating clearer opportunities for coaches to progress.

The two federations will now work together on the implementation of the programme and the delivery of BWL coach education in Hungary.

BWL CEO Matthew Curtain said: ‘the Licensed Delivery Partner model enables national federations to build greater capability within their own systems while benefiting from BWL’s education programmes, resources and expertise. Hungary has a proud history in weightlifting, and we look forward to working together to support the continued development of its coaches and wider weightlifting community.’
