GBR women top medal table as Davies defends title and Campbell claims sixth European crown

Sarah Davies set the tone early in the week, successfully defending her European title in the women’s 63kg category. Despite finishing ninth in the snatch, she responded with authority in the clean & jerk to secure gold and take the overall title.

In the women’s 86kg category, Madias Dodo Nzesso Ngake added to the medal tally with a composed performance, claiming silver in the snatch and bronze in the total.

The Championships concluded with a dramatic final session in the women’s +86kg category, where Emily Campbell secured her sixth European title. After taking bronze in the snatch, she delivered when it mattered most, winning gold in the clean & jerk and total to edge Olympic champion Solfrid Koanda by one kilogramme in a high-quality contest.

The event was also attended by the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Georgia, His Excellency Gareth Ward, who met with athletes and coaches and witnessed British success firsthand.

British Weight Lifting extends its thanks to UK Sport, The National Lottery, and partners SBD Apparel and Eleiko for their continued support.
