What the course covers

Weightlifting is an incredible sport. It builds power, confidence and long?term resilience. In this course, you’ll discover how it works — and how you can get started safely.

You’ll learn:

  • The history and benefits of weightlifting
  • How competitions work in the UK
  • How to perform the snatch, clean and jerk
  • How to warm up effectively
  • How to create a personalised programme
  • How mindset, identity and recovery support your progress

Each module is broken down into short, digestible sessions. You’ll also complete interactive activities to help you put your learning into practice straight away.

The four modules

  1. About YOU

Understand how you think, what motivates you and how to set goals that stick. You’ll also explore how others can support your progress.

  1. Starting Weightlifting

Learn the basics of the sport - including its benefits, safety principles and competition structure. You’ll also discover how to build an evidence?based warm?up tailored to your needs.

  1. The Lifts

Start learning the movements step by step. You’ll build from the fundamentals towards the full lifts: the snatch, and the clean and jerk.

  1. The Programme

Bring everything together. Instead of following a one?size?fits?all plan, you’ll create a programme that suits your goals, lifestyle and current ability.
