Extraordinary General Meeting Confirmed

Following the recent publication by Sport England and UK Sport on behalf of the Government of the mandatory Code for Sport’s Governance, it is now essential that BWL remains fully compliant if it is to maintain on-going public funding from both or either of our main funders.

BWL is not on its own – all National Governing Bodies of Sport and any organisation looking to receive public funds in the future are faced with the requirement to demonstrate the highest standards of governance and, if necessary, amend their Articles of Association prior to 31 October 2017.

BWL is therefore holding an Extraordinary General Meeting in Leeds on the 16th September to propose a small number of minor changes to our Articles of Association, which will ensure we remain fully compliant and eligible to continue to receive public funding.
