Campbell Becomes Two Time Commonwealth Champion at Glasgow
The final day of weightlifting at the 2026 Commonwealth Games ended on a high, with Emily Campbell claiming gold, Cyrille Tchatchet II securing silver, and Andy Griffiths earning bronze for England. It was a fitting conclusion to an outstanding week of competition in Glasgow.

Men’s 110kg
The first session of the day featured Cyrille Tchatchet II (England), Drew Burns (Scotland) and Oliver Dodds (Jersey).
- Oliver finished 7th with a 120kg snatch, 140kg clean and jerk and a 260kg total.
- Drew placed 5th after a 146kg snatch, 173kg clean and jerk and a 319kg total.
- Cyrille secured silver with a 166kg snatch, 208kg clean and jerk and a 374kg total.
Women’s 86+kg
The second session saw Emily Campbell (England) return to the Commonwealth platform to defend the title she won in Birmingham in 2022.
- Emily snatched 115kg and clean and jerked a Commonwealth record and personal best 163kg. Her 278kg total earned her gold and confirmed her status as a two-time Commonwealth Champion.
Men’s 110+kg
The final weightlifting session of the Games featured Andy Griffiths (England), James Wales (Wales) and Omar Keshta (Northern Ireland).
- Omar finished 7th with a 142kg snatch, 177kg clean and jerk and a 319kg total.
- James placed 4th after a 145kg snatch, 191kg clean and jerk and a 336kg total.
- Andy secured bronze with a 165kg snatch, 191kg clean and jerk and a 356kg total.
