British Weight Lifting Athletes Honoured at Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony

British Weight Lifting is proud to celebrate two athletes who have been given the honour of representing their home nations at the Opening Ceremony of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Holly O'Shea has been selected as Gibraltar's Baton Bearer, while Alfie Bezance will proudly lead the Isle of Manteam into the stadium as their Flag Bearer.

These prestigious roles recognise not only their achievements in weightlifting but also the commitment, leadership and values they demonstrate within the sport. It is a fitting honour for two athletes who continue to inspire those around them through their dedication both on and off the platform.

British Weight Lifting CEO Matthew Curtain said:
