British Weight Lifting Anti-doping Rule Violations
British Weight Lifting (BWL) acknowledges the British anti-doping rule violations as published by the International Testing Agency (ITA)
Giuseppe Aschettino – anti-doping rule violation art 2.1 – Presence of SARMS LGD-4033 (ligandrol) metabolite
Nikki Hamilton – apparent anti-doping rule violation art 2.1 – Presence of Cocaine metabolites - the case is still ongoing
These cases were conducted by the ITA on behalf of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) at the 2022 British Championships.
Matthew Curtain, British Weight Lifting CEO, said: “This serves as a clear warning to all athletes, both funded and non-funded, of the importance of adhering to all anti-doping rules to ensure complete compliance. British Weight Lifting will continue to work closely with UKAD and the IWF in the fight against doping and to promote and provide a clean sport for all.”
