The England Championships 2025 were officially held on 6–7 December at the NEC, Birmingham. The weekend featured elite competition, incredible talent, and unforgettable moments as athletes from across the country came together to compete for podium spots.

5 October 2024 - 5 October 2025

Bodyweight Categories:

The 2025 England Championships will be held in accordance with the new bodyweight categories, as recognised by BWL. Recognising the transition period between the ‘old’ and ‘new’ bodyweight categories, BWL will apply the following once-off procedure to ensure a safe, fair, and consistent ranking is produced:

5 October 2024 to 13 April 2025 - Results attained in the ‘old’ bodyweight categories (including exact bodyweight) will be sorted into the ‘new’ bodyweight categories. For example, if a 49kg women has weighed 48kg or less, this result will automatically be ranked in the new 48kg bodyweight category.
14 April 2024 to 5 October 2025 - Results attained from 14 April 2025 will automatically be sorted into the ‘new’ bodyweight categories.

Minimum Standards:

Invitation schedule:

06 - 10 October 2025 - Athletes will be invited as per the English ranking and in accordance with the field size of the bodyweight category (and having met the minimum standard). Lifters ranked in multiple bodyweight categories must select their preferred category.
21 October 2025 - Deadline for invite acceptance.
24 October 2025 - If any, by 24 October 2025 BWL will publish on its social media platforms the number of unused quota places and when the Sport80 entry portal will be open.
27 – 30 October 2025 - In the case of unused quota places via the ‘Ranking’ method and in accordance with the field size of the bodyweight category, other qualified lifters will have the opportunity to enter the English Championships via Sport 80. This will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis irrespective of the English ranking but subject to the minimum
standard of the respective bodyweight category.
