World-Class Lifting: 2024 IWF World Junior Championships

British Weight Lifting is incredibly proud of our team’s performance at the 2024 IWF World Junior Championships, which took place from 19 to 27 September in Leon, Spain.

Our athletes—Erin Friel, Isabella Brown, and Maddie Rosher—showcased their strength and determination on the international stage.

71kg Women

Madeline Rosher delivered a solid performance in the 71kg category. She completed snatches of 80kg and 83kg, narrowly missing 86kg. In the clean and jerk, she successfully lifted 100kg, 104kg, and 107kg. Madeline finished 5th in the B group with a total of 190kg, placing 15th overall in her category.

Erin Friel also competed in the 71kg category. She achieved snatches of 83kg and 86kg, missing 85kg on her second attempt. In the clean and jerk, Erin lifted 106kg and 110kg successfully before missing 113kg. Her total of 196kg earned her 4th in the B group and 14th place overall.

76kg Women

In the 76kg category, Isabella Brown had an outstanding performance, particularly in the snatch session. She completed all three attempts, lifting 95kg, 99kg, and 101kg, finishing 3rd in the snatch. For the clean and jerk, she managed lifts of 117kg and 121kg before a missed attempt at 124kg. Isabella’s total of 222kg secured her 5th place overall.
