Want to be a Technical Official at the 2026 World Youth Championships?

The World Youth Championships will be held in Cali, Colombia, from 05-11 July 2026.

Insofar as Technical Officials are concerned, Member Federations in good standing are eligible to nominate the following:

• Technical Official(s) must be Category 1 International Technical Officials or Competition Doctors with a valid licence for the period 2025-2028 (Certificate of Duty for Competition Doctors).
• Nominate 1 Male & 1 Female Technical Official(s) for this Event (Competition Doctors excluded).
• In accordance with the IWF TO Appointment Guidelines, the IWF has advised that, for this specific event, nominations are expected to be limited to Technical Officials aged 40 years or under, with a basic knowledge of English.

IWF TO Appointment Guidelines

In this regard, BWL seeks expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced Technical Officials who meet the IWF nomination criteria for this specific event. While the IWF has provided indicative guidance in relation to this competition, BWL may, where appropriate, consider nominations beyond this guidance, having regard to the published IWF criteria and noting that final appointments remain entirely at the discretion of the IWF.

To be eligible, British Officials must have officiated at least three (3) national events during the proceeding twelve months.

The completed form must be submitted to BWL no later than 1200hrs, 30 April 2026.

Nominations will be assessed and prioritised by the BWL Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Events Operations Manager.

Finally, it must be emphasized that the appointment of technical officials is made by the IWF and not BWL.  Please also note selected ITOs maybe requested to cover their participation (flight only).
