2021 Virtual British Para Powerlifting Championships Results
The 2021 BWL Virtual British Para Powerlifting Championships were held between the 20-23 September, this offered an opportunity for athletes at all levels to test their training and as we return to in person competitions, achieve a recognised total in preparation for future competitions.
The event was run online via Launchpad with lifters submitting their pre-recorded videos, which were then adjudicated and certified by three random licensed World Para Powerlifting Technical Officials.
All scores were calculated using the A.H. Formula. This means that the bodyweight of each athlete is equated to a coefficient, that in turn is multiplied against their best result.
Congratulations must be given to all of the entrants who put in some outstanding performances in the competition, often in difficult situations.
The standout performances in the female competitions went to Charlotte McGuiness in the -61kg category from Loughborough Weightlifting and Powerlifting club, who had a best lift of 80kg and Rebecca Bedford in the 61+ kg category who had a best lift of 88kg.
The standout performances in the male categories were Mark Swan from Powerbase in the -72kg with an outstanding series of lifts culminating with a final lift of 184kg and Nathaniel Wilding in the 72+ kg with a 164kg lift.
