Team Announcement: European Junior & Under 23 Championships 2024

We are thrilled to announce the selection of 15 of Britain's finest young weightlifters who will represent Great Britain at the 2024 European Junior & Under 23 Championships in Raszyn, Poland.

The competition will be taking place between 25 October and 3 November. This talented squad includes a mix of seasoned competitors and promising newcomers, who have shown exceptional progress and determination over the past year.

The team features 10 returning athletes with previous international age-group experience, bringing a wealth of knowledge and skill to the competition. Joining them are 5 debutants who have made remarkable strides, earning their place on the team through hard work and outstanding performances.

Lead Pathway Coach Kristian McPhee expressed his excitement about the upcoming competition: “It’s great to see such a large and strong team representing us at this year’s European Junior & Under 23s. These lifters are up there with some of the best in Europe. After the success of our age-group training camp in Bulgaria during the European Championships in February, we’re excited to provide the team with another opportunity to train around and learn from other international-level lifters in the lead-up to this event. We hope the time away will help the athletes bond as a team and give them a performance boost at the championships.”
