Paris 2024 Olympic Games Selection Policy Announced

British Weight lifting is pleased to share the selection policy for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This policy works in combination with the IWF qualification system found here.

BWL is responsible for 2 aspects of the Nomination of Athletes to the British Olympic Association.

1. Confirming both the Bodyweight category of athlete’s who qualify by name in more than 1 Olympic Category
2. Selecting athletes IF the total number of athlete’s who qualify by name is greater than 3 men and 3 women

Athletes wishing to be considered for selection for Team GB at the Paris 2024 Olympics must return a signed copy of Appendix A: Application of interest form – Paris 2024 Olympic Games (Weightlifting) to stuart.martin@britishweightlifting.org no later than 17:00 on 30^th April 2023.

Athletes who submit an application of interest but then cease to maintain eligibility in accordance with the IWF qualification system will be informed at the point of selection for each of the IWF Paris 2024 events that are outlined in the selection policy.

Athletes and coaches should familiarise themselves with both documents and email the BWL Head of Performance (stuart.martin@britishweightlifting.org) if they have any questions at any time about either the selection process or qualification process prior to the end of the qualification period (28^th April 2024)
