Level 2 Modern Apprenticeship in Sports Coaching
Fitness Training Scotland have recently made spaces available for employers across Scotland to access funded training for the Level 2 Modern Apprenticeship in Sports Coaching.
This apprenticeship programme is a great opportunity for young people in Scotland to gain and develop skills in coaching and planning sports sessions.
The funded framework will include the following courses and modules:
1. SVQ Level 2 Sports Coaching which contains 3 mandatory units and 1-optional that will allow learners to do the following
- Plan Sports Coaching Sessions
- Deliver Sports Coaching Sessions
- Review Sports Coaching Sessions.
- Maintain the Health, Safety, Welfare & Security of Participants & Staff (optional)
- Core Skills at Level 4
- The BWL Level 1 Award in Coaching Weightlifting
- The BWL Level 2 Technical Official Qualification
To be eligible for this apprenticeship candidates must be aged between 16 and 24 and also hold a valid contract of employment (zero hours and casual contracts are accepted).
Candidates looking to apply must not be currently studying an ‘associated qualification’ at a college or university. This means that a candidate can be taken on as long as they are not studying a sport/recreation, or health & fitness qualification.
Furthermore, candidates must not already hold a degree in an ‘associated qualification’.
