EUWC To Take Place This Weekend

This weekend will see the European Union Weightlifting Cup (EUWC) take place in Waterford, Ireland.

A squad of six will represent Great Britain:

U15      Tyler Johnston (Scotland)

Youth   Macy John (Wales)

U15      Theo Bayne-Dixon (England – North)

Youth   Nathalie Richards (England – Midlands)

Youth   Ben Hickling (England – South)

Youth   James Godden (England – South)

The team will be led by National Youth Coach Rhodri Thomas, he commented," I am looking forward to seeing 6 new athletes challenge themselves in their international debut and gel as a team". 

 Jenny Tong is making her international debut as GBR assistant coach she commented, " I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to coach at this event. At 22 I'm hoping this is the first of many". 

The young team selected are all striving towards the qualification standards for the European Youth & Under 15 championships later this year.

13 countries will compete with U15, U17 and U20 athletes which promises to be a fantastic event.
