European Weightlifting Championships: Britain's Emily Campbell claims overall Bronze
Emily Campbell has added to Britain’s overall medals in the final day of lifting at the European Weightlifting Senior Championships. With three overall medals secured this has been the best performance by a British team to date at the European Seniors.
Campbell who secured Bronze at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games got 4/6 lifts to secure Bronze in the Snatch, Clean & Jerk and overall, totalling 260kg. Emily’s medal comes days after both Zoe Smith and Emily Godley secured Bronze and Silver respectively.
Strong performances from across Team GB keeps many of the athletes Tokyo 2020 ambitions on track. The team consisted of athletes with a wealth of experience on the International platform with 2018 Commonwealth games gold medallist Gareth Evans competing in the Men’s 67kg category and Jack Oliver in the Men’s 81kg.
