European Junior and Under 23 Championships team announcement

British Weight Lifting (BWL) is delighted to announce a team of eleven athletes for the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) European Junior & Under 23 Weightlifting Championships. Seven junior athletes and four under 23 athletes are due to fly out to Albania for the competition, which is being held 13-25 October 2022.

The team of eleven athletes will be supported by Team Leader Stuart Martin, and Coaches Dave Sawyer, Julie Morrish and Ania Negela.

National Head Coach Dave Sawyer shared his thoughts on the team selection. “It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the athletes and the performance staff on their selection for the European Junior and Under 23 Championships to be held in Durres, Albania from the 14 October 2022.

We have a team of 11 athletes, which consists of 5 men and 6 women across the two age groups with a mix from England, Wales and Scotland and 4 members of staff 2 male and 2 females.

The numbers represent the strength in depth across the country with all athletes achieving the minimum selection standards required. The performance staff would like to thank all the athletes for your continuous hard work and dedication. We wish you all the very best for the competition.”
