Competitors of all ages and weight classes gathered to push their limits and set new records, creating an event filled with memorable moments and inspiring comebacks.

This year’s championships saw an extraordinary 32 records broken, including numerous senior records.

Standout Performances from Emily Campbell and Solfrid Koanda

Emily Campbell, Team GB’s Olympic Silver Medallist, dominated the Senior Women 87+kg category with a 123 kg snatch and a 164 kg C&J, totalling 287 kg. Her lifts earned her the Best Female Lifter title, and she now sets her sights on the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Competing as a guest, Solfrid Koanda, the Norwegian World and European Champion, competed in the Senior Women 87kg category. She impressed with a 121 kg snatch and a 157 kg C&J, totalling 278 kg. Koanda is also preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Celebrating Excellence

The Championships highlighted the competitive spirit and excellence in British Weightlifting. The BWL team’s efforts in organising the event were highly praised, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants. The 2024 British Championships will be remembered not only for the broken records but also for the athletes' dedication and the spirit of the sport.
