BWL Competitions and Courses Postponed due to COVID-19
Due to the on-going COVID-19 situation we are sorry to announce that British Weight Lifting competitions and courses have been postponed.
COMPETITIONS
The following competitions have now been postponed:-
- BWL South Open Series 1 (29 March)
- British University and College Championships (18 – 19 April)
- BWL Midlands Open Series 2 (3 May)
- BWL South Open Series 2 (14 June)
- British Weight Lifting Championships (27 – 28 June)
- BWL North Open Series 2 (11 July)
The team will be working hard over the coming days and week to contact affected lifters and spectators via email. All entry and spectator costs will be refunded (minus any transaction fees incurred via EventBrite or Sport80 which we are unable to recover). If you have booked a ticket for the British Weight Lifting Championships, M&S Bank Arena Liverpool will contact you directly by email to arrange a full refund.
We will be assessing the impact of these postponed events on qualification for future competitions and will issue an update over the coming month.
It is up to the discretion of individual clubs whether they choose to refund cancelled or postponed Tier three competitions that were due to run. Health and Safety is of the biggest priority and the clubs that were due to run competitions need to follow government guidance during this unprecedented time. British Weight Lifting will not recognise any competitions that take place under the current new rules. For any clubs who need help postponing their competition please contact competitions@britishweightlifting.org
British Weight Lifting will continue to monitor the situation closely and follow guidance from the Government, DCMS, Public Health England, Sport & Recreation Alliance, UK Sport and Sport England.
COURSES
We are sorry to advise that all of our courses are now postponed until further notice.
Learners who were booked to attend a course within the next year will still have access to their online learning accounts. They will still be able to continue with their pre-course E-learning or refresh their knowledge by reviewing this again. If there are any issues with this please contact courses@britishweightlifting.org
We will start to confirm revised course dates with our BWL venues to ensure learners can find the right course as soon as we are able to do so. For the moment, this means your course space has been put on hold and we will contact you as soon as possible to rearrange.
When the current situation improves and we are able to start to running our courses again we will ensure learners receive the appropriate information as soon as possible.
