British Weight Lifting Mental Health Charter Action Plan Approved
We are pleased to announce we are now listed as a signatory on the Mental Health Charter with an approved Mental Health Charter Action plan.
Our Mental Health Charter action plan will outline how we will use weight lifting to support good mental well-being, tackle stigma and support all weight lifting providers to better understand mental health.
By signing the charter and completing the action plan we join over 300 other leading organisations in showing a real commitment to taking positive action around mental health by doing the following:
- Using our sport to promote good mental health and wellbeing
- Adopting good mental health policies and best practices
- Appointing ambassadors and role models
- Tackling discrimination on the grounds of mental health
- Supporting a pan-sport platform to develop and share resources and best practice
- Throughout all of this we should regularly monitor our performance
As part of the plan we will be working hard over the next 12 months and beyond to raise awareness of mental health through all of our available channels.
