Job Description:

Sport England has awarded British Weight Lifting 350k in funding to support the provision of an English Talent pathway for both weightlifting and para powerlifting lifters to enable them fulfil their Commonwealth, Olympic and Paralympic potential. BWL are looking for 3 new Talent Academy coaches who will operate within the England Talent Pathway, supporting the development of a sustainable Talent Academy infrastructure for talented lifters throughout England. They will play an important role in delivering a stronger talent pool with an increase in numbers and depth of lifters and enables every lifter to fulfil their potential and establish a sporting habit for life. The primary remit of the Talent Academy Coach will be to lead the Talent Academy including the delivery of a programme of technical coaching and educational training days to selected lifters, and to support the Club Coaches, lifters and parents based in the area. They will provide a key link between British Weight Lifting and the clubs in the specified area, therefore successful candidates will need to demonstrate an understanding of the skills required by a Coach and key principles of developing young lifters, as well as experience of operating in a club environment with young people, volunteers and parents.  This role is funded by the Sport England Talent funding stream and managed by British Weight Lifting Performance Pathway.
