British Weight Lifting College to Raise the Bar with new Educational Diploma
British Weight Lifting is proud to announce the launch of its latest venture, the British Weight Lifting College which will see specialist educational programmes aimed at those with a passion for sport. Delivered across the whole of the United Kingdom, the College will be open for anyone aged 16 to 18 years old who are keen to explore future University opportunities and potentially develop a career in sport.
The launch of the new BWL College will be supported by a further new educational partnership with Leeds United Football Club, who will add their weight and expertise around teaching and delivery to the new venture.
Having developed a number of highly sought and fully accredited education programmes, the initial BWL Diploma will offer a fully inclusive 2-year learning environment for students with an interest in a wide variety of sporting career opportunities.
The exclusive BWL Level 3 Extended Diploma will cover 19 core elements of sporting performance and excellence such as anatomy, physiology, coaching, psychology and analysis.
The course will be equivalent to three A-Levels and particularly suit those wanting to enter employment in the sports industry in areas such as sports coaches, physiotherapy, sports science or for those wishing to progress to higher education to study a sport-related degree.
The application process for the very first British Weight Lifting Diploma which will be delivered in Leeds, Sheffield and London will be open very shortly, with BWL supporting colleagues from Leeds United at a variety of Open Evenings in October this year and February and March next.
Students studying for the Diploma will be supported by specialist Leeds United tutors who will deliver innovative teaching and learning, along with sessions delivered from experts within the National Governing Body and guest speakers within the sports and fitness industry.
Ashley Metcalfe, Chief Executive Officer at British Weight Lifting commented, “We are extremely proud to announce the launch of our new British Weight Lifting College. It presents an excellent opportunity to engage with a younger audience who are passionate about sport and future potential opportunities in the industry.
