Apply to become a British Weight Lifting Scottish Talent Academy
The British Weight Lifting talent academy accreditation is designed as a framework for enhancing the development of clubs who demonstrate potential to create safe environments for talented weightlifters to emerge from.
British Weight Lifting commits to supporting potential clubs throughout the process and acknowledging those who are successful in attaining the accreditation by marketing and promoting them as clubs who deliver good practice aligned with British Weight Lifting pathway objectives.
Clubs who continue to maintain their status will be included in on-going coach development, talent identification schemes and other opportunities.
The accreditation is broken down in to 4 key areas:
- Club health (culture, safeguarding and governance)
- Sustainability
- Athlete development
- Coach development
Each area possesses minimum standards and competencies that must be demonstrated/maintained before a club receives fully accredited Talent Academy status.
This process takes a minimum of 6-12 months with the support of a British Weight Lifting pathway coach.
