2024 IWF World Cup in Phuket: Final Olympic Qualifier

Five British weightlifters are gearing up for a crucial competition in Phuket, Thailand.

From 31 March 31 to 11 April, the IWF World Cup will be their last chance to qualify for the Paris Olympics. The team includes Zoe Smith, Chris Murray, Sarah Davies, Katrina Feklistova, and Emily Campbell.

Dave Sawyer, the National Coach, has congratulated the team, emphasising the importance of this event. "On behalf of the performance team, I would like to take this opportunity in congratulating the athletes on their selection for the upcoming World Cup event in Phuket, Thailand. This is the final Olympic qualifier for the Paris games and a mandatory competition for all athletes still eligible for qualifying after meeting the criteria of participation in the required number of IWF events,” said Sawyer.

"This has been a tough process for qualification to these games with the standard so high. Everyone needs to be at the top of their game for the next few weeks and into the championships.
