2023 IWF Grandprix I Havana selection policy

IWF preliminary entries for the IWF Grand Prix I will close on the 8th March, it is essential that any athletes wishing to maintain their eligibility for Paris 2024 Olympic games urgently submit an application of interest here no later than 17:00 on Tuesday 7th March.

BWL stresses that Athletes who have not yet competed or been selected for either the IWF World Championships 2022 (Bogota, Columbia) or the EWF European Championships 2023 (Yerevan, Armenia) must qualify for this event if they wish to maintain eligibility to qualify for Paris 2024.

In accordance with the IWF Olympic qualification system found here all athletes wishing to qualify for Paris 2024 are reminded that they must meet the following criteria to maintain their eligibility to qualify.

• Athletes must participate in a minimum of 5 out of 7 Olympic qualification events
• Athletes must participate in the IWF World Championships in 2023 (02-17/September – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)
• Athletes must participate in the IWF World Cup in 2024 (02-11/April – Phuket, Thailand)
• Athletes must compete in their desired Olympic Category a minimum of once at 1 out of the 7 qualification events
• Athletes must complete mandatory anti-doping education
• Athletes qualify by name and must top 10 on the Olympic qualification ranking at the end of the Olympic qualification period (28^th April 2024) found here
