2022 World Masters Championships

British Weight Lifting would like to congratulate the twenty-one masters athletes that represented Great Britain in Florida at the World Masters Championships that took place between 1-10 December 2022.

Well done to Samantha Travis, Michaela Breeze, Kelly Friel and George Byng for breaking records in their respective categories.

Congratulations to Michaela Breeze who ranked fourth overall in the women’s rankings on SHMF points.

Special congratulations are extended to Kelly Friel who was the best female lifter in the 45-age category and placed seventh overall in the women’s rankings on SHMF points.

The team results were also a big success.

The men’s GBR team ranked fifth in the world after amassing 1624.755 SMF points. The men’s team compromised of Charlie Stone, Lee Page, Gurdawar Dhesi, Andrew Seaber, Nigel Beresford, George Travis and George Byng.

The women’s GBR team ranked first in the world after accruing 1909.547 SMF points. The women’s team compromised of Samantha Travis, Gemma Peregrine, Georgina Williams, Michaela Breeze, Kelly Friel, Victoria De Val, Susannah Perez and Patricia Tenn.
