Competition Update - May 2025
Amendment to the 94kg Class
Following the recent IWF announcement, British Weight Lifting will include the men’s 94kg category at both the 2025 British Championships and British Masters Championships.
To support those preparing for the previously adopted 98kg category, this class will also be included to ensure fairness.
With limited time before qualification deadlines, top-ranked 94kg athletes will be invited without a minimum standard.
Rankings and Weigh Class Changes
Following the recent weight class changes, British Weight Lifting can confirm that the Sport80 rankings have now been updated to reflect this amendment.
Any results predating the April 14th have been recategorised under the new weight classes, this ensures British Championship rankings are accurate and include results pertained form the full qualification period.
British Championship Virtual
Please note that the submission deadline has now been extended to the 15th of May.
British and English Records
British records for the previous 10 bodyweight categories were officially archived on 13th April. New performance standards for the new 8 weigh categories will be announced shortly. BWL will also be introducing English standards alongside the new British records.
