BWL are delighted to announce the team that will be travelling to Albania for the European Junior & U23 Weightlifting Championships later this month.

Day 2 of the British Junior & U23 Championships began with the men’s 85kg class. Miles Morgan won gold for the juniors with a 253kg total with Rhodri Beynon in close second with a 247kg total. Over in the U23 category for the men’s 85kg class, senior British champion, Guy Michel Tchuissi put on a remarkable performance to take the British U23 title with a 290kg total, clearing 2nd place by a 20kg.

16-year-old, Welsh record holder, Ellie Pryor was the first of the team to compete in the Youth W53kg category. Ellie successfully snatched 58kg after missing her third attempt at 60kg and combined with her 73kg clean & jerk, finished the competition with a total of 131kg.

Day 1 of the British Junior and U23 Championships saw the men’s 56kg, 62kg, 69kg and 77kg groups along with the women’s 48kg, 53kg, 58kg and 63kg groups take to the stage to fight for the title of the British junior champion.

BWL are excited to announce a team of 11 lifters for the Para Powerlifting World Championships in Mexico City at the end of September.

BWL are pleased to announce the team selection for the European Youth Championships 2017. One Welsh lifter and 4 Scottish lifters will make up the British squad who will compete in Kosovo between the 23rd and the 30th September 2017.

England Weightlifting are delighted to announce a 13 strong Team to compete at the 2017 Commonwealth Championships in Brisbane, Australia from 3-9 September.
