Great Britain’s next generation of future stars shined brightly on the global stage at the IWF Online Youth World Cup by securing multiple Top 10 finishes in the virtual international competition.

British Weight Lifting would like to congratulate GB International athlete Noorin Gulam who was the joint winner of the W49kg class in the Eleiko International Email Tournament.

Louise Sugden won gold and Liam McGarry took bronze on the final day of the Manchester 2020 Road to Tokyo Para Powerlifting World Cup to secure top spot for Great Britain in the final medal standings.

Great Britain dominated the men’s up to 72kg category and recorded a 1-2 finish on the podium as Micky Yule took gold and Nathaniel Wilding secured silver to extend the hosts lead at the top of the medal table on Day 3.

Great Britain enjoyed a second successful day at the Manchester 2020 Road to Tokyo Para Powerlifting World Cup as Kimberly Dean won Gold and Mark Swan took a Junior title, set a new European Junior record and clinched overall Bronze.

Gold for Zoe Newson (up to 41 kg), silver for Adam Alderman (up to 49 kg) and bronze for Olivia Broome (up to 50 kg) got Great Britain off to a fantastic start on the opening day of the Manchester 2020 Road to Tokyo World Para Powerlifting World Cup at Wythenshawe Forum.

The British Weigh Lifting Performance Team are delighted to announce that a squad of two athletes and two coaches have been selected to represent Great Britain in the World Junior Championships hosted at the RIN Grand Hotel Bucharest, Romania, between 14-21 March.

British Weight Lifting have selected a squad of five athletes to compete in the Rome IWF World Cup which is taking place on the January 27-31, 2020.

The performance program is delighted to announce the team preparing for the Manchester 2020 Para Powerlifting World Cup which is being hosted at Wythenshawe Forum between 20 & 23 February 2020.

Last week the weightlifting world descended upon the seaside resort of Eilat on the Northern tip of the Red Sea as the popular Israeli tourist attraction played host to the European Youth and Under 15 Championships.
