From 20-23 February, the world’s finest para powerlifters will go head-to-head in Manchester at this crucial qualifier for the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

The first event of its kind to be held in the UK, the World Cup will be an exciting showcase of strength and power, featuring the best para powerlifters on the planet.

For home fans, this is a fantastic opportunity to get behind the Great Britain team in their quest for Tokyo places, as well as to enjoy the sport at its dramatic and breath-taking best.


Tickets are available here through Eventbrite and are priced from £8.00 each (plus fees) for adults and £3 each (plus fees) for children (14 years old and under).

Tickets can be purchased for one, two, three or four days of competition and are sold with unreserved seating. You can choose which days you wish to attend the event with your ticket, so you don’t need to select a day(s) when buying your tickets.

Concession tickets are available for adults aged 65 and over on the date that they attend the event. Wythenshawe Forum is an accessible venue and we are happy to offer tickets at the concession rate for those with accessibility requirements. Eligibility documentation, valid at the time of attending the event, may be requested when you attend.

118 athletes from 26 countries will compete in Manchester with a 15-strong Great Britain team featuring Paralympic medallists Ali Jawad and Zoe Newson, Commonwealth Games silver medallist Louise Sugden and former European champion Micky Yule. Experienced athletes will compete alongside the best of Britain’s emerging talent, with Liam McGarry and Kim Dean both making their international debuts following impressive progress on the domestic scene.

 The Forum is nine miles from Manchester city centre and just a few minutes’ walk from Wythenshawe town centre where there is a bus station and Metrolink tram stop (Wythenshawe Town Centre).
