What is Lift Britain?
Lift Britain is the next generation of Weight Lifting competitions. This BWL event is a little different. Music will be non-stop, the crowd will be loud and proud, the battle will be head to head. Lift Britain is open to all lifters, members, non-members, CrossFitters, established lifters and new starters. We want to see what Britain can do.

Lift Britain Timeline
15th November 2017 : Registration opens!
Athletes will download the Lift Britain app and register their details. During the registration process, athletes will enter one of four weight categories, the athlete will then remain in this category for live final.

15th January 2018 : Video submission and score entries open!
Athletes will have until the 15th February to enter their scores.
Athletes will have to submit 2 separate scores, a 1 rep max snatch and a 1 rep max clean and jerk – both scores will be accompanied with a video.
15th February – 22nd February 2018: Athlete score validation process.
Some athletes may be contacted in this period and be asked to re-submit scores/videos within this 7 day timeframe.
23rd February 2018 : Finalists announced!
Finalists will be announced for the live final of Lift Britain.
11th – 13th May 2018 : Lift Britain Live Final!
Athletes will remain in their registration weight category.
Live Finals will be held in Birmingham.
Athletes will only compete on one day. The day will depend on their weight category.
The Lift Britain Live Finals will be a weightlifting competition of both snatch and clean and jerk.
The event will have full Weightlifting rules including technical officials and lifting standards and have 3 lifting attempts for each lift.
Super Heavyweight (94.01kg+)
Athletes will submit the scores on the Lift Britain app in kilograms. When submitting the scores, you will be asked to upload a video. All scores must be submitted by midnight February 15th.

Videos must contain one lift attempt only, there will be 6 minute time limit for the video.
The athlete and bar must be must be in clear view during the entire lift.
After the lift, the athlete must clearly show to the camera: the weight of the barbell, the weight of each plate on the bar and their body weight on scales.
After the lift the athlete must also clearly state their name and Lift Britain body weight category.
Videos can be uploaded straight from a mobile phone, no YouTube links will be accepted.
