Entries Now Open For 2019 England Weight Lifting Championships

British Weight Lifting are pleased to announce entries are now open for the 2019 England Weight Lifting Championships taking place 19-20 January at the Stantonbury Theatre, Milton Keynes.

The England Weight Lifting Championships 2019 is a festival of Olympic weightlifting and Para Powerlifting with participants of every age from Under 10 through to 80+

The England Senior Weightlifting and Para Powerlifting Championships is a Tier 2 competition and will see 20 weightlifters crowned Champion of England. All lifters must have equalled or beaten the qualification standard for the bodyweight category they wish to enter within the previous 12 months, this includes results from competitions using the old bodyweight categories.

The England Development Open is a Tier 3 competition and will take place on Saturday 19 January and is a fantastic opportunity for lifters aged 12 and below to experience competitive weightlifting for the first time, or gain further experience competing. There are no qualification standards for this competition allowing individuals aged 12 or below to compete as long as they are aged 12 or below on 31 December 2019. 

The England Masters Championships will take place on Sunday 20 January and is a Tier 2 competition and will see 20 weightlifters in each age group crowned Champion of England. 

The minimum age to compete is 35+ on 31 December 2019. Any lifters below this age are not eligible for Masters but can compete is the Senior age group. All lifters must have achieved the qualification standard at a competition registered with BWL in the previous 12 months.

The cost to enter the Senior Weightlifting Championships is £35 per lifter, £25 for the development open and £30 for the Masters Open. All entries will close on December 10^th at 23:55pm

Tickets are now on general sale and we are pleased to offer all British Weight Lifting members a discount price of £17 for a standard day ticket and £32.30 for a weekend ticket.

New for this year is our single day ticket which allows you to watch either day of the competition. The single day ticket allows spectators to watch either day of the competition and can be purchased prior to the final schedule been released.
